the Production of new battleships and aircraft carriers led to the demand for modern destroyers with a maximum speed of 38 knots. A production contract for 100 ships of the future "Fletcher Class" was received at the end of 1940. After entering the war in December 1941, followed by the order for a further 75 ships. During the Second world war, Fletcher has established itself as the most successful destroyer of the US Navy thanks to a powerful power plant and effective radar equipment.
