the First prototype of the Pz.Kpfw. Maus V1 went for a test run on the plant Alkett December 23, 1943, the Machine was equipped with aircraft engine requiring gasoline with an octane rating of at least 77. Technical characteristics of the "Mouse" looked very impressive: weight - 188 tons, armed with a tank 128 mm and 75 mm gun, the thickness of the armor in the frontal parts of the tower and the body 200-240 mm. the Second prototype of the "mouse" tank had a diesel engine that constantly failed. The power plant MB 509 was replaced by a new engine MB 517, but information about the time when these works were carried out, has not been preserved.
