HMS Valiant was laid on 31 January 1913 at a shipyard in Glasgow, Scotland, launched on 4 November 1914. Valiant (brave, valiant) was adopted by the Navy in January 1916 and in the same year took part in the Jutland battle. In the interwar years Valiant was converted and used in the Atlantic and Mediterranean. The ship took part in the Second world war until August 1944, because of the incident in the dry dock of Ceylon was seriously damaged. After the war for some time been used as a training ship, then was sold for scrapping in 1948.
