During the Falklands war, Argentina used 12 AML-90 armored vehicles, which were part of the 181st armored cavalry reconnaissance.squadron (Escuadron de Exploracion Caballeria Blindada 181), as well as a number of members of the 10th intelligence.squadron's. The 181st squadron landed in the Falklands on April 7, the 10th joined later. During the battle for the height of Wireless Ridge AML-90 faced with "Scorpions" and "Scimitars" British regiment Blues & Royals (Royal Horse Guards & 1st Dragons). This was the only "tank battle" of the Falklands war. After the loss of height dismounted crews of the Argentine armored cavalry made an unsuccessful attempt to recapture the height, but were discarded with heavy losses. After the capitulation of Argentine troops, part of the armored vehicles AML-90 was delivered to England, one is even exhibited in Bovington, some remained abandoned on the Islands.
