In 1993, the US army began using the M1070 Truck Tractor and the M1000 Heavy Equipment Transporter Semi-trailer. The load of M1000 reaches 70 tons, the tractor is mainly used for transportation of Abrams tanks, as well as for other heavy machinery and equipment. The tractor can be used on public roads (after a special permit), and off-roads. The cabin accommodates two operators of the tractor and four crew members of the transported tank. The tractor can be transported by C05 Galaxy and C-17 Globemaster III aircraft.
