Leichter Panzerspähwagen was a series of light four-wheeled cars produced by Germany from 1935 to 1944. The car used a standard chassis sPkw I Horch 801, the body of the inclined armor and the tower. Horch 3.5 engine located in the rear part of the body allowed the car to reach a speed of 80 km/h on the road and 40 km/h on rough terrain. The power reserve was 300 km. the Car was used by reconnaissance battalions and tank divisions, Sd.Kfz.221 has proven itself in countries with high-quality road surface, such as in Western Europe but in Eastern Europe and North Africa, the car was suffering from not too high off-road terrain, these theater in the role of reconnaissance vehicles were primarily used half-track Sdkfz 250.
