the Soviet T-28 was one of the first medium tanks in the world. The prototype was completed in 1931 and mass production began in late 1932. It was an infantry support tank designed to break through enemy fortified defenses. T-28 was developed for joint action with the heavy T-35, which had many common parts. The tank did not have much success in fights, but work on it has become an important experience for the Soviet engineers and industry. New ideas and solutions used in the T-28 moved to future projects.
