Additional Information
Vickers Medium Mark I was an interwar period medium tank built by Vickers. It replaced some heavy Mark V. Together with the slightly improved Vickers Medium Mark II, the tank was used in the Royal Tank Regulations, becoming the first type of two hundred tanks taken out of service in 1938.
Medium Mark I was the first tank to see "mass" production since the last ten Char 2C were completed in 1921. The other French tank, Renault NC 27 was built only in numbers thirty units. This British medium tank identified almost all the world's tank building of the twenties. Tanks have never been used in combat and their combat effectiveness can only be guessed now. However, these machines, being the only modern tanks built in the decade after the First world war, gave the UK a unique opportunity to test a lot of new ideas . This knowledge was invaluable during the Second world war.
