history:

German artillery suffered the most during the first winter on the Eastern front. The shells were somewhere far away, white paint was not enough, and most importantly – the Russian aircraft took over the air.  Because of the snow drifts, it became impossible to maneuver artillery units, but the density of the guns in the area of the breakthrough has increased greatly.  Despite all of the above, the German artillery has not lost its combat capability and was a formidable force on the battlefield. 

Use of mortar in Art of Tactic:

In the game mortar crews will be able to support fire squads both in defense and in the offensive. The main feature of mortar calculations in the game is that they can fire at the enemy from closed positions, remaining unnoticed.
