In may 1994, the Ministry of defense of Israel signed a contract with the American company Boeing for the production and supply of 25 tactical fighters F-15 modification I. These aircraft are an export version of the American F-15E "Strike Eagle" and are intended mainly for strikes on ground targets.
Unlike the basic model, the new machine is equipped with a set of equipment EW SPS-2100 Israeli production, which includes an active interference station, a receiver of radiation warnings, as well as means of warning of a missile attack. The need for these machines is also explained by the need to strengthen the Israeli air force due to the fact that in recent years there has been a slight decrease in the level of their technical equipment compared to the air forces of neighboring States, whose leaders are taking vigorous measures to re-equip the national air force with modern aircraft types.
