Fouga CM. 170 Magister – French two-seat training jet. It can be used for both basic and advanced training.
the First prototype, with the Turbomeca Marbore II engine, took off on 23 July 1952. Three prototypes and 13 pre-production aircraft were manufactured.
the First series was delivered to the air school in Salon de Provence on 28 may 1956. The French air force, Armee de L'air were satisfied with the performance and concept of the aircraft and gradually ordered another 200 Magister in its composition.
Magister was also manufactured under license in the following countries: Finland, Germany, Israel and Belgium.
In 1961, there was an episode of combat use of a training aircraft during the civil war in the Congo.
Magister has become a training aircraft in many countries around the world, 25 countries have used and some continue to use this aircraft to this day.
in Addition, the aircraft was used by the aerobatic teams of France (Patrouille de France), Belgium (Red Devils), Germany (Acro Team) and Israel.
