the G-91 Was developed by Fiat under the leadership of Giuseppe Gabrielli in accordance with NATO requirements for a single light European fighter. The requirements of the NMBR/1 were sent to all major European aircraft manufacturers in 1954, they provided for the development of a light fighter/attack aircraft with a range of at least 275 km and capable of operating from poorly prepared field airfields. It was believed that the aircraft that won the competition will be adopted by the air force of all European NATO countries, but this did not happen, although the G91 was built in quite significant quantities in Italy and under license in Germany, becoming a very important aircraft for the air force of these States.
