Additional Information
the Design features of the fighter reflect the desire of developers to use the latest world achievements in the field of aircraft construction and electronics. To ensure the required level of maneuvering characteristics, especially at large angles of attack, the aircraft is designed according to the scheme with a low-lying triangular wing and a negative margin of stability, two-section flaps and slats, a rotary front horizontal tail, a vertical keel with a rudder without a stabilizer. This scheme has a number of advantages, the main of which is to reduce the resistance of the aircraft at supersonic speeds.
Typhoon, though inferior in a number of characteristics to the best fighters of the United States and Russia, however, has a number of revolutionary characteristics for its time: this is the first combat aircraft in which the EMU technology is used, many elements of the aircraft are developed taking into account the Stealth technology (the aircraft did not become invisible, but its EPR is much lower than many analogues in generation), as well as it is worth noting that the EF-2000 supersonic cruising speed, which is one of the mandatory requirements for fifth-generation fighters. Eurofighter Typhoon can be called one of the best fighters of the fourth generation, which clearly indicates the high level of the European aircraft industry (brainchild of Airbus can not mention). If one day the EU leadership decides to create a fifth-generation fighter, it will certainly become a serious competitor and the F-22 and PAK FA T-50.
At the end of 2013, a total of more than 400 Eurofighter Typhoon fighters were produced. Production of machines continues.
