The Grumman F4F wildcat was an all-metal free-carrying medium-sized aircraft. The fuselage - in the bow of the semi-monocoque, in the tail - monocoque circular section, supported by no power frames and stringers. Technologically consisted of two parts. In the bow there was an engine with a supercharger, a fire-fighting system consisting of one cylinder with a foaming composition and sprinklers, a chassis compartment, a main protected fuel tank and an oil tank. In the rear fuselage housed the cockpit, another fuel tank under the seat of the pilot, armored and radio equipment. The fairing and vertical tail structurally, was inalienable.
