Additional Information

LTV A-7 Corsair II was a subsonic, light, assault deck-based aircraft. Was introduced to replace the A-4 Skyhawk, entered service during the Vietnam war.  The Corsair was adopted by the US air force and the National guard, where it replaced the A-1 Skyraider, F-100 Super Sabre and F-105 Thunderchief. In the 1970s, the aircraft was delivered to Greece, Portugal and Thailand in the late 80's. The a-7 frame was developed on the basis of the successful supersonic F-8 Crusader.  A-7A was the first production version. Early USN Corsair II armed with two 20mm colt Mk 12 guns with 250 rounds of ammunition on the barrel. The theoretical maximum load is 6804 kg, but is limited to the maximum take-off weight, which is why the full combat load can be achieved with a significant reduction in fuel. 19 aircraft were built.
