Additional Information
Convair F-106 Delta Dart, used from the 60s to the 80s, is considered one of the best interceptors ever used in the US air force. It was used by the air force and the national guard as the main, all-weather interceptor for more than 29 years. The main "dance partner" of the Soviet Tu-95 bomber. Delta Dart is based on Convair F-102 Delta Dagger. The powerful engine allowed the aircraft to develop a speed of Mach 2. Installing a new, larger engine meant an increase in the aircraft. The armament consists of one 20 mm cannon and six missiles in the compartment under the fuselage. F-106 first took off on December 26, 1956, delivered to the troops in June 1959. 277 single-seat aircraft type "A" was built.
