Macchi MC.205 - development of the previous MC.202 Folgore is undoubtedly the best fighter of the Italian air force in world war II. The aircraft had a powerful engine, high speed and ease of operation. A weakness of the aircraft was its lack of weapons, but this problem was solved by installing two 20mm cannons in the course of production. However, the difficult situation of the Italian industry during the war did not allow to achieve the production of a sufficient number of these aircraft. A relatively small number of machines delivered to the squadrons was unable to resist the huge force of Allied air.
