the F/A-18D was available in variants designed to carry out attacks on land and sea targets at night. "Night Hornet" replaced the all-weather carrier-based attack aircraft A-be "Intruder". Since 1992, these fighters were equipped with an improved an/APG-73 radar. The last production aircraft F/A-18D was transferred to the us Navy in September 2000, after which the US Navy began to purchase fighters F/A-18E/F "Super Hornit". In total, the Navy and the us marine corps received 627 fighters F/A-18C/D.
