This robust helicopter was first introduced in the mid-fifties. The most important feature of the helicopter is its high reliability. UH-1 was developed in the US army during world war II. Hundreds of UH-1s were used for transportation, medical care, and assault operations. Produced under license in Italy, Germany and Japan, used in more than 50 countries. Recently, a twin-engine version of the helicopter began to be manufactured.
