the P-51 began to be developed in 1940 by order of the British government, the prototype took to the air just 117 days after placing the order. During the second world war, the P-51 was used in almost all theaters of war led by the United States and Britain, while the aircraft performed a very wide range of tasks, from assault operations in Europe, to accompany strategic bombers over the Pacific ocean.
