the P-51 began development in 1940 by order of the UK government, the prototype took to the air just 117 days after placing the order. During the second world war, the P-51 was used in almost all theaters of war led by the United States and Britain, while the aircraft performed a very wide range of tasks, from assault operations in Europe, to accompany strategic bombers over the Pacific ocean.
