Between 1978 and 1989, 582 si-25s were produced, they served the USSR, and were exported (variant "K"-commercial) to Iraq, North Korea, Peru, and other countries. Pilots of the Russian Federation and Ukraine received the nickname "rook" for NATO codification: Frogfoot.
