the Sukhoi su-33 Flanker-D is an all-weather carrier-based air defense fighter. This fighter is derived from the su-27 "Flanker" and was originally known as the su-27K. The aircraft was first used in operations in 1995 on Board the carrier Admiral Kuznetsov. It officially came into operation in August 1998, when it received the designation "su-33". After the collapse of the USSR and the subsequent reduction of the Russian Navy, only 24 aircraft were produced.
