the Development of LCAC hovercrafts began in the early 1970s. At the development stage, two prototypes of landing boats, JEFF A and JEFF B. the last prototype was selected For serial construction. Construction of the first 33 lcac boats was carried out in 1982-1986 financial years, 15 boats were built in 1989, 12 in 1990, 1991 and 1992 and 7 boats in 1993. The first class LCAC hovercraft was delivered to the US Navy in 1984. Initial operational readiness for the boats was achieved in 1986. The last boat, the LCAC 91, was delivered to the us Navy in 2001.
