HMS NELSON (his Majesty's Ship Nelson) was laid down on December 28, 1922 by the Armstrong Whitworth shipyard, launched on September 3, 1925 and accepted into the Navy on August 15, 1927. By the beginning of world war II, the ship's crew was put on full alert. From April to June 1941 accompanied convoys in the Atlantic. In November 1942 HMS Nelson took part in the Moroccan-Algerian operation. In July 1943, he supported the allied landing in Sicily during operation Husky and the landing in Salerno in September of the same year. 29 September 1943 on Board the ship signed the instrument of surrender of Italy. In 1944 he participated in the fire support of the landing in Normandy. Later, on September 3, 1945, the Japanese surrender act of Malaysia was signed on Board the ship. After the war Nelson was used as a training ship until 1947, in 1948 he left the fleet and was used as a target for bombers. In 1949 it was dismantled for metal.
