BTR-60PB was created at the Gorky automobile plant and adopted in 1964. Serial production of the machine was carried out until 1987.
the BTR-60PB was a modernized version of the BTR-60ПА. This is the most successful and the most mass modification of the armored personnel carrier of the BTR-60 family. The body of the armored personnel carrier is welded from armor plates and made by the carrier, on it inside and outside the main units and equipment of the machine are fixed. The body is closed, sealed, fully armored, equipped with a filter and ventilation unit (PVU).
the Armored body of the vehicle is divided into three sections: control, landing (combat) and power (motor). The control unit is located in the front (bow) of the machine. It contains controls, instrumentation, radio station, commander's and driver's seats, winch and its drive, observation devices, etc. Landing (combat), the Department is located in the middle part of the body and is designed for 10 people. Personnel is placed on the seats.
