a Small firm called Scammel from Watford specialized in heavy machinery and produced the pioneer model from 1927. By the beginning of the war the second generation of "pioneers"was produced. The basic scheme of the machine remained the same and despite the archaic design, the Scammels were very actively used by the British army on all fronts, starting with the campaign in France. The pioneer was produced mainly in three main types: artillery tractor for towing heavy guns, tank Transporter, where the tractor towed 30-ton semi-trailer and the hero of the review - repair and evacuation machine.
the Design of the tractor is very specific and will be a notable "snack" for all fans of wheeled vehicles. First of all, the car has an original design, or rather, it is so outwardly ridiculous that it is even attractive in its own way. A special charm it gives a wide half-open cabin, short and narrow hood, old-fashioned looking tubular radiator and a powerful cross-beam of the front axle with rotating wings with wheels.
