Israel's main battle tank Merkava Mk.3D is a revised version of Merkava Mk.3, is armed with 120 mm smoothbore gun, the BAZ monitoring system for gunner and panoramic sighting system for the commander. Additional armor significantly increases the survivability of the machine. As Israel's most massive tank, the Merkava Mk.3D took part in the Second Lebanese war of 2006, operation Cast Lead in the winter of 2009.
