AMX-30 was a French OBT of the second generation, the designers sacrificed the protection of the tank to light weight, and as a consequence - the mobility of the machine. The tank was armed with 105mm rifled gun L/56 and 20mm automatic gun against low-flying targets. AMX-30B2 - improved version with a new fire control system and a new suspension improves off-road quality. In 1991, France used the AMX-30B2 in the Gulf war.
