Most CMP trucks were manufactured by the Chevrolet division of General Motors and Ford Motor Company in Canada. Just over 500,000 CMP trucks were manufactured in Canada, accounting for approximately two-thirds of the 815,729 military vehicles produced in Canada during world war II. CMP truck production in Canada exceeded the total production of military trucks in Nazi Germany.
