The Hotchkiss H35 or Char léger 1935 H was a French cavalry tank developed before world war II. Although it was designed since 1933 as a fairly slow but well armored light infantry support tank, this type was initially rejected by the French infantry because it was difficult to drive while running over rough terrain and was instead adopted in 1936 by the French cavalry.
