Armored car BA-10 was developed in the USSR in 1938 and was produced until 1941. This heavy armored car was built in three versions. These versions were BA-10, BA-10M (improved version with new radio) and BA-10ZhD (equipped for railway/road use). The basic design of the BA-10 was developed on the basis of the BA-3 and BA-6 heavy armored vehicles. It had an improved chassis and improved armor (up to 15 mm on the front of the car and on the tower). It was assumed that the BA-10 will be replaced in 1941 by the BA-11 with a diesel engine and more durable armor, but the beginning of the war prevented the BA-11 put into production. BA-10 was in service with the red Army until 1945.
