armored personnel Carrier BTR-60 PB was created in the design office of the Gorky automobile plant. It was the first Soviet combat vehicle with eight-wheel drive. The first serial modification - BTR-60P had no roof.
the BTR-60P was produced in 1960-1963. They came into service of the Soviet motorized rifle troops and Marines.
BTR-60PB– the most perfect modification, was made in 1966-1976. It had a covered body with a tower, which housed the machine guns KPVT and PCT. These machines entered the service of the Soviet Army, the people's Army of the GDR, as well as widely exported to many countries of the world.
