"Land Rover" was one of the most important cars in the history of SUVs and one of the most famous symbols of "Made in England". Designed immediately after the war, the first prototype was ready in 1947 for civil and military needs. Although not directly, the car clearly had the influence of the famous American SUV "Jeep". The car had all-wheel drive and a reliable frame. Version 109-inch "long wheelbase" was used by the British S. A. S. from the second half of the 70's. During desert operations Land Rover painted in a typical camouflage scheme "pink panther" (pink Panther), for which the machine received from the members of the S. A. nickname "Pinkie".
