Additional Information

T-60 - Soviet light tank of the second world war. Developed in August 1941 at the Moscow plant No. 37 under the leadership of Nikolai Astrov, the leading developer of the entire domestic line of light tanks of that period. In September of the same year, the T-60 was adopted by the Workers 'and Peasants' red army and mass-produced at several machine-building plants. Production of the T-60 continued until February 1943, when it was replaced on the Assembly lines by the more powerful t-70 light tank. A total of 5,720 T-60 light tanks were produced, which took an active part in the battles of the great Patriotic war in 1941-1943. A small number of surviving T-60s were used as reconnaissance tanks, tractors, and training vehicles until the end of the war. The number of released tanks also includes the chassis transferred for the installation of BM-8-24 class multiple launch rocket systems. Shortly after the end of the war, the T-60 was withdrawn from service with the Soviet Army, and six similar tanks are still preserved in museums in Russia and Finland.
