At a certain period of time Ds.kfz 250 began to be converted into machines for adjusting fire, reconnaissance, ammunition and other roles. A further change in the chassis led to the creation of Sd.kfz 250/9. This conversion involved mass production from existing components. The car had good mobility and reliability, and the reservation and the front location of the engine provided some protection for the crew of three people. The disadvantage was difficult maintenance, poor speed and turning radius, as well as high volume when working. But the advantages provided by the tracks more than compensated for these shortcomings.
