Additional Information
At the beginning of world war II, the mechanized units of the German army won many victories using blitzkrieg tactics. This triumph is shared by combat units on the front line and an effective strategy, and experienced commanders. To move this valuable command staff needed different machines. One of these machines was the Kommandeurwagen, produced by the Austrian firm Steyr. The design was based on the transport machine Steyr 1500A/01 released in accordance with the standardization program "Schell Programme" in 1940. Developed on the chassis of a 1500A, 1500A/01 was an eight-cylinder petrol engine capacity of 85 HP, the Wehrmacht was impressed with the maximum speed of 100 km/h on paved roads, and ordered a special version of the for command. Unlike the standard eight-seat modification, Steyr Kommandeurwagen, aimed at comfort, had five seats. All seats were leather and the front seat could be reclined and used as a bed. Kommandeurwagen was used by the "elite" of the German army from Russia to North Africa.
