B1 bis began production in 1937 and was an improved version of the 1920s Char B1 tank. In riveted corps was mounted a short 75 mm howitzer, and in single tower was placed 47 mm gun. The B1 bis was one of the most armored tanks of its time, with armor reaching 60mm in some areas, and was able to withstand the fire of anti-tank guns such as the 37mm Pak.
At the beginning of world war II, B1 bis stood in the way of German armies planning to crush France on its land.
