Sd. Kfz. 234/2 were built by Assembly scheme with a rear-engined four driven axles all steered wheels and two control stations. The bearing body was welded from sheets of rolled steel, the thickness of which in the frontal projection was 30 mm, on the sides of 8 mm and at the stern of 10 mm. Armor sheets were installed everywhere with rational angles of inclination, especially accentuated in the front of the body, which significantly increased the protection of the armored vehicle. The reservation was bulletproof and provided the crew of four with reliable protection against bullets of small arms, as well as fragments of shells and mines of small caliber.
