the Rapid movement of mechanized troops during the Blitzkrieg required equally rapid movement of commanders and generals. One of the machines used for these purposes was the four-door version of the Austrian Steyr 1500A/01 with engine 85 h. p. and good off-road trafficability. Since it was the commander's car, the eight-seat cabin was converted into a more spacious five-seater. The seats were leather and the front passenger seat could be folded back and turned into a bed. The high command of Germany on all fronts used this modification of the Steyr 1500A/01 as a personal vehicle.
