In the early stages of world war II, the Italian car manufacturer FIAT produced the ab40 armored car for reconnaissance missions. Later, in 1941, the AB41 based on the AB40 was put into production. The AB41 had four-wheel drive, independent suspension on each of the wheels, large tires and a driver's seat in the front and rear of the car. All these features made AB41 very versatile machine, in addition to the tower was installed 20 mm automatic gun Breda M35. Most of the machine was used in North Africa. With the defeat of Italy, many of the captured AB41 were used by Germany, including on the Italian front.
