Nicknamed the "two and a half", the M35, 2.5 ton 6x6 supply truck, built in an amount greater than 800,000, was one of the unsung heroes of world war II. The truck was designed for easy maintenance and repair and was used on all theater, providing the front lines with the necessary materials. One of the important operations in which the M35 was involved was the Red Ball Express, a supply chain created to support the Allies after the Normandy landings. The simplicity of the design allowed for field modifications of the machine, so the soldiers in Vietnam, welded to the truck armored.
