Additional Information
the Churchill Tank was created in the middle of 1940 in connection with the desire of the Land forces to have a tank capable of resisting the newly created German 50-mm anti-tank gun. The design was evaluated as old-fashioned already in the process of its creation: the frame of the body was assembled from corners, on the frame were fastened with rivets sheets of ordinary steel, and already on them were hung sheets of armor steel. The tank was produced in eleven versions. On the first modification artillery weaponry was installed in two tiers: in the nasal parts of corps (howitzer caliber 76.2-mm) and in tower (gun caliber 40-mm).
