Strv 103 was Sweden's main tank, although it is not considered a tank by most countries. Strv was used in the 1970's, 80's and partly in the 90's, a total of 300 machines were manufactured. Modification of outdated versions to the standard Strv 103 was started in 1986, the car was equipped with the improved control system of the fire engine Rolls-Royce was replaced by a 290 hp Detroit Diesel, added a new laser rangefinder, extra armor plating and armor active.
