This tank, launched into mass production in 1942, soon became the main, which were armed with armored forces not only the United States but also England. The Sherman tank was supplied by lend-lease to the USSR as well. From the M3 series, it differed mainly in the configuration of the hull and the layout of the weapons. The scheme of the power transmission, its layout and design of the main units remained the same, which was due to the desire in the transition to a new type of machine to maintain high production rates.
