Westland "Wessex" was developed and produced in the UK on the basis of the American helicopter S-58. Since April 1960, the machine modification HAS Mk.1 began to be produced commercially, and the next year they entered service with the Royal Navy of great Britain. "Wessex" HAS Mk.1 was intended for the solution of antisubmarine tasks. A total of 130 helicopters of this modification were built.
