An-2 is a multi-purpose short take-off and landing aircraft, made its first flight in August 1947. Serial production was deployed at the Kiev plant No. 473, where 3164 an-2 aircraft of various modifications were produced until the end of 1963.
After the signing of the Treaty between the Soviet Union and Poland in 1958, documentation for the production of the biplane was transferred to the leading Polish factory WSK PZL-Mielec. In total, 11915 aircraft were built in Poland.
