the Bf 109 G Series was introduced in mid-1942. The main difference from the f series was the more powerful 1475 PS DB 605 engine. A number of aircraft were equipped with a sealed cabin and changes in the engine to fly at high altitude, while conventional fighters and fighter-bombers had no such changes. Later representatives of the G series (G-5 to G-14) had a water injection system to increase engine power.
