It was in service with Algeria, Afghanistan, Bulgaria, Hungary, Vietnam, Egypt, India, Iraq, Yemen, North Korea, Cuba, Libya, Mali,Mozambique, Mongolia, Peru, Poland. Syria, Tanzania, Finland, Czech Republic,Ethiopia, Yugoslavia, and almost all CIS countries. It has been successfully used in a number of armed conflicts. In the spring of 1970, the Pechora complexes were delivered to Egypt to strengthen the air defense of this country, in the conditions of increased raids of Israeli aircraft1968-1970. During the October war of 1973, the SAM successfully repelled Israeli air raids.After 1973, the S-125 systems were used by the Iraqis in 1980-1988 in the war with Iran, in 1991 - in the reflection of the air raids of the multinational coalition. They were used by the Syrians against the Israelis during the Lebanese crisis of 1982, by the Libyans to shoot at American planes in 1986,by the Yugoslavs against the Americans and their allies in 1999, and during the war in Angola. According to the Yugoslav military, it was the C-125 complex that shot down F-117A in the skies over Yugoslavia on March 27, 1999, the photos of fragments of which were published in the media.
