Combat engineering vehicle Buffalo MPCV (mine-protected clearance vehicle) belongs to the class of combat vehicles for demining route and is the largest of the currently used MRAP. The vehicle is used for mine protection of the third category, mine clearance route, explosive devices, protection of objects, as well as management and command. Buffalo is produced by the American company Force Protection Inc. Force Protection Inc was founded in 1996 in Ladson, South Carolina. Initially, the company tried to engage in aviation technology, but after September 11, 2001,due to the decline in demand in the aviation market was forced to change the direction of its activities. Until 2005, the company employed only a few dozen people, and its turnover was only $1.5 million. Three years later, its staff was more than 1,000 people, and sales exceeded $900 million. Currently, Force Protection Inc is a member of General Dynamics group.
